Hornbook on Torts by 
Torts in a Nutshell by Compilation of "black letter law", produced by the American Law Institute (ALI), for torts as determined by recognized experts in practice, academe and the judiciary. A first restatement was produced in the 1930s. This was subsequently revised and expanded in the Second Restatement. The ALI is in the process of making the Restatement Third, Torts, in which whole volumes replace, or will replace, topics of its predecessor. Though the Restatement Third will replace the Restatement Second, which, in turn, replaced the original restatement, it can be useful to look at the historical versions as contemporary cases will have relied upon them.
