ASP Podcast: I Operate Best Under Stress-Or Do I?Professor of Practice Elena Minicucci and I interview two of our colleagues from NSU's psychology department, Dr. Jaime Tartar (a neuroscientist) and Dr. Jonathan Banks (a cognitive psychologist). Dr. Tartar and Dr. Banks both study the effects of stress on the brain, as well as ways to reduce those effects.
During the podcast we discussed what effect stress has on the human body and brain and how it can impair various functions and thus negatively impact learning. Both Dr. Tartar and Dr. Banks explained the neuroscience and physical impacts in terms that are easy to understand and provided examples and sound advice on how to cope with the stress of law school, final exams, and the bar exam. Our guests were engaging and provided a lot of useful information and suggestions for law students.
