Tax Law Legal Research: Pennsylvania

Both the consolidated and unconsolidated portions of the laws of Pennsylvania are available. The statutes can be searched using natural language search (upper right hand corner) or browsed by title.

The General Assembly website contains both the consolidated statutes (Pa C.S.A.) as well as the unconsolidated Public Laws. It does not contain the Purdon's Pennsylvania Statutes (P.S.), so it is generally better to use the West site rather than trying to find the appropriate Public Law.

Duquesne University School of Law has a comprehensive webpage with the text and information about the Pennsylvania Constitution. It has older versions of the Constitution (the current one only dates from 1968) as well as summaries of PA constitutional law, articles about the Constitution, information about the previous constitutional conventions, and current constitution-related news and caselaw.

The Pennsylvania Bulletin is the state equivalent of the Federal Register, publishing new and proposed rules. It is available online, and each issue can be browsed or searched using a full-text search (can be narrowed by agency, date, document type, etc.)

Confusingly, the Pennsylvania Code is not the state statutes, it is the state regulations. All of them are available online through this website, and they can be browsed by title and searched using basic Boolean search strings.
