New Jersey Administrative Law: NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development

Guide to administrative law research for New Jersey

Overview

The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DLWD) is the state agency that manages workers’ compensation matters for the state.  Workers’ compensation involves payment of medical care, wages and disability compensation to those who have suffered job related injuries or to families who have lost members due to work related deaths.

DLWD makes its decisions available online, organizing them by legal issue.  In addition, DLWD has posted a research manual for its decisions.

Lexis' NJ Workers' Compensation Decisions database contains DLWD decisions from 1990 to the present.  The database is updated within two days of publication of the most recent decision.

Westlaw’s New Jersey Workers Compensation Administrative Decisions is its database of workers compensation decisions.  It has selected decisions from 1991 to the present.
