Delaware Administrative Law Research: DE Administrative Register

Overview

As mentioned previously, nearly every jurisdiction has an administrative register. It serves to provide the public with information about the activities of the jurisdiction’s executive branch and other branches.

The Delaware Register of Regulations (DRR) is Delaware’s administrative register. It is published monthly on the first of the month. The DRR publishes various types of information, including:

  • Regulations adopted by Delaware state agencies
  • Regulations proposed for adoption, amendment or repeal by Delaware state agencies
  • Delaware state agency hearing and meeting notices
  • Governor's Executive Orders
  • Another documents deemed in the public interest

The DRR is available print and electronic formats. The state posts a free version of the DRR online.  The archives on that site go back to the first issue, which was published in 1996. The web site allows users to browse the issues, or use a basic search function.  Each issue of the DCC has a cumulative index of the year’s regulatory changes.

The DRR is also available in several subscription legal information databases. Lexis provides offers its version under the heading, Delaware Government Register.  Westlaw provides recent proposed and adopted regulations in its “Delaware Proposed & Adopted Regulations” database, though this does not follow the format of the DRR.  Westlaw’s Delaware Administrative Register- Historical database has issues from 1997 up to the last two years.  Bloomberg does not have the DRR per se, but does provide searchable access to notices and final regulations within the DRAR and DRR cites.
